Bake & Muffin by W.V.E sits comfortably on Marple Road in Charlesworth, serving as a welcoming stop for anyone looking for a relaxed cafe experience infused with a strong local vibe. It’s the kind of place that suits a quiet mid-morning break or a casual catch-up, especially after a stroll through the nearby countryside paths.

The atmosphere here leans into warmth and simplicity, with the kind of friendly service that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. The owners and staff treat visitors with genuine care, creating a low-key community hub where families, walkers, and locals intersect. There’s enough indoor seating to accommodate small groups, and the buzz tends to pick up mid-morning through lunchtime, so arriving outside peak hours might offer a more peaceful experience.

The menu centers firmly on well-made basics done right. For breakfast, the portions are generous—farmhouse and traditional options hinge on fresh, hearty ingredients that set you up for the day ahead. The breakfast rolls are a handy grab-and-go choice for those passing through or heading out for a walk. On the drinks side, the coffee is consistently strong and reliable, with espresso-based choices like lattes and cappuccinos complementing freshly brewed filter coffee. Freshly made milkshakes are a hit with kids, making it a welcoming spot for parents needing a pause with little ones in tow.

Bake & Muffin also draws in those with a sweet tooth. Its range of cakes and homemade pies come across as straightforward delights without the fuss—rich, buttery, and exactly what you want alongside a good cup of tea or coffee. The Bakehouse Tea Cake, for example, carries that charm of simple, comforting baking that fits the rural setting well.

Overall, this cafe works best for anyone wanting a no-frills break from walking the local trails or looking for dependable breakfast and coffee in a cozy, familiar environment. Its easy-going vibe and approachable menu make it a spot where both locals and visitors can linger, chat, or refuel before continuing their day around Glossop and Charlesworth.

I love coming here for a breather by myself or with my little boy. He absolutely loves it, Lindsay is a gem and her food is delicious. The freshly made milkshakes go down a treat with my boy, the tea is spot on and the hot food is always tasty. There are lots of walks in the area so it's a great place to start or finish at.

We visited this lovely cafe twice while staying nearby and we’re so glad we did! The food especially the homemade pies and cakes are delicious. The man and lady who served us were so warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere has that wonderful local community feel. If we lived in the area, we’d be here all the time!

A real gem. A chance find for us but well worth a visit and certainly will if in area again. Great prices, great food and great service. Cakes to die for! Nice seating area but can imagine it can get very busy. They do just eat as well.

Well, holy hell… Bake & Muffin. Walked in expecting your run-of-the-mill coffee and cake joint, walked out thinking I just found the goddamn promised land. Smells like sugar, butter, and pure happiness the second you step inside. The muffins? Big, bold, beautiful — just like I like ‘em. Soft in the middle, sweet enough to make you forget the world’s gone to shit. Coffee? Strong. Hits harder than Lucille on a bad day. But let’s talk about the real star of the show here… Mel, the manager. Fine as hell. Runs the place tighter than I ran the Sanctuary, but with a smile that could make even a hard-ass like me go weak in the knees. Friendly, sharp, and makes the whole place feel like home. You can tell she’s the reason this ship sails so smooth. So, here’s the deal: Bake & Muffin isn’t just a café. It’s the café. Muffins worth dying for, coffee worth living for, and Mel… well, Mel’s the cherry on top. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ — Negan approved.

I'm a delivery driver from Wolverhampton, so I tried this cafe, and have to say the food was amazing. The best Bacon sausage egg on toast sandwich with red sauce and black pepper. Highly recommended

A very lovely village cafe. Highly recommend a visit. We’ve had homemade birthday cakes and their beautiful Christmas cupcakes are now a tradition in our house

What a star Lindsay is. She made me cheese & onion pies & meat & potato pies of a 70th party at my dad's. Everyone commented on how nice and homemade they were. It was no trouble for Lindsay to cater for us. And the price was right Would definitely recommend & use again. Oh, and the gluten-free brownies that she makes are to die for. (My daughter word).
